10 years Later
It's been a decade and I'm still here. I never thought I would be where I am today. Let's do a recap summary. I was married. I have two beautiful children. I am now divorced. I lost my Aunt Pat, may she rest in peace. I have been trying to rebuild lost relationships with friends and family due to my previous nuptials. I lost who I was and found out, the hard way, what is best for me. I am back living with my parents. It's an adjustment. I miss seeing my kids on a daily basis. They are my pride and joy. I still and always will have God on my side. I have studied and read the entire Bible, from cover to cover. I am now double certified in Biblical Studies from two institutions, one of which is a seminary.
It's a new world in which we live in 2024. The times have certainly changed and I don't know if it's for the better but it definitely doesn't seem to be. We have had Wars started, a pandemic that shutdown the entire world for a year and some of the craziest scenes in our culture and society that make me want to move to another planet. I wish people used their brain more. Unfortunately, Covid has killed a plethora of brain cells in our society. An upcoming Civil War may break out between Texas and the US. Israel's occupation of Palestine has caused a dramatic rift overseas and here domestically. Russia has invaded Ukraine and caused so much turmoil.
Let's talk about our Country. We had Trump as president after the Obama dynasty. We now have Biden who looks like he is on strings. There has been so much violence due to race. Police brutality has ben showcased tremendously. We have members of the LGBTQ+ being attacked and also being the aggressors. The political climate is shifting. Dems and Reps are both going crazy though I tend to see Conservatives making much better sense of things. Roe v. Wade was overturned in a shocking event, although supporters of abortion and becoming a lot more hostile.
I cam back to this blog because this has been my only safe space. I don't know if I will continue writing on here but even if I don't I still have a lot to say. I have written more poetry and stories that I need to publish one day. I am excited for my children. As they grow, they continue to show how bright and creative they are. They draw and color every chance they get and it warms my heart to see what they can create. I am praying for this world, our country, my friends and my family. Though so much bad has happened, I still look for those lights of inspiration and goodness. 10 years is a long time, a lot has changed but the thing that remains the same is my love for my Savior Jesus Christ. We are made in the image of God and all of us humans have an innate value and dignity. We should all be treated with respect and sincerity.
I close this entry to say this: We need to better communicate in all things. The most important part of that communication is comprehension. We need to truly understand what is being said so we can accomplish good things together. It's okay to have debates. It's incredible to share ideas. It's amazing we can get progress through collaboration. To quote a famous theologian: “In essentials unity, in non-essentials liberty, in all things charity.”
